Have you heard about Tensegrity

Have you heard about Tensegrity? A structure constitutes a tensile system if it is in a state of stable self-balance, consisting of elements that support compression and traction support elements.

The balance between efforts of both types of elements give shape and rigidity to the structure. The term Tensegrity, from English Tensegrity is an architectural term coined by Buckminster Fuller as a contraction of tension integrity (tense integrity).

Tensioning applied to the human body means that our bone structure is integrated into a myriad of muscular and fascial tissues, forming a system that maintains its balance thanks to the different voltage elements to which it is attached. Compression in a joint area may be due to a tension deficiency of the rest of the system or of another part of the system. From this point of view the body is approached in its entirety.

The improvement of the balance of the structure, will mean a considerable improvement of each one of the tensional elements that compose it. All this applies to Bowspring. The human body is a living tensegritic structure, we can speak of biotensegrity. The tensegrity applied in living things with self-movement. Indeed, the human body (and that of any vertebrate animal) is clearly a living tensegrítica structure! Bones are the rigid bars (they do not touch each other) that are in compression thanks to the forces of traction of muscles, ligaments and fascial tissue (connective or connective tissue), which at the same time form the tense and continuous network that spatially delimits the body by the outside.

The skin is the last (and more external) elastic membrane of the body. Soft tissue (muscles, ligaments and fascial tissue) is in a positive, favorable, necessary and vital tension. The rigidity of the bones allows them to have this tension. Imagine a body without bones or soft tissue … it would be meaningless, since one needs the other.

Let your body be as tense as possible: move yourself, stretch the soft tissue, breathe continuously, wide and deeply, rest and relax whenever necessary, integrating tensions. And remember also, it follows good nutrition. Through the practice of Bowspring yoga, you can develop this tensile strength, recovering the wisdom of primitive nature. With organic movements, fluid and conscious.
